At Equi-Librium Coaching & Therapy, we specialise in holistic therapy and emotional wellbeing. Our approach integrates traditional counselling and psychotherapy with nature-based practises, including equine facilitated psychotherapy and Forest Therapy, to foster healing and resilience. Whether you're seeking support for trauma, anxiety, or personal growth, our dedicated team is here to guide you on your journey. We are the home of the Pegasus Project, Man v Horse (England) and Forest Dads.

Equi-Librium is a community interest company rooted in the belief that healing doesn’t come from being told what’s wrong with you—but from experiencing something different.
We offer:
• Trauma based counselling and psychotherapy
• Equine facilitated therapy
• Coaching for individuals and groups
• Nature-based therapeutic experiences such as forest therapy
• Work with children, young people, and adults
Our work integrates evidence-based approaches including:
• EMDR
• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Compassion Focused Therapy
• Polyvagal-informed practice
But we don’t just talk about these models.
We bring them to life.

Individual and group coaching delivered by ICF and EMCC qualified practitioners.

The Pegasus Project
At the heart of Equi-Librium is our work with young people.
The Pegasus Project, delivered in partnership with Turning Point, supports children and young people under the age of 18 who have experienced trauma—often in the context of family substance misuse.
These are young people who:
• Have learned not to trust easily
• Struggle with regulation and relationships
• Often fall through the gaps of traditional services
With horses, something shifts.
They begin to:
• Feel safe enough to engage
• Experience connection without pressure
• Build confidence and self-worth
• Learn regulation through relationship
This isn’t abstract therapy.
It’s lived experience.
And it changes lives.
Man v Horse (England) ™ is not just about speed, endurance, or competition.
It’s about something deeper.
⸻
The Challenge
Set against the wild, demanding beauty of the Quantock Hills, this is a race where:
• Runners take on the landscape
• Riders and horses navigate the same terrain
• Human and equine endurance are tested side by side
It’s raw.
It’s unpredictable.
And it asks something real of everyone who enters.
⸻
What It Represents
At its heart, this event is about:
• Determination in the face of challenge
• Respect between human and horse
• Community coming together
• Pushing limits—without losing compassion
We hold strong to our principles:
Community. Compassion. Friendly Competition.
Because how we compete matters as much as the outcome.
⸻
More Than a Race
This isn’t just a sporting event.
It’s part of something bigger.
Every step taken—whether by runner or horse—helps support the work of Equi-Librium Coaching and Therapy CIC, including The Pegasus Project.
That means:
• Entry fees contribute to trauma therapy for young people
• Sponsorship supports real, on-the-ground change
• The event becomes a vehicle for something meaningful
So when people take part—
They’re not just racing.
They’re contributing.
⸻
The Atmosphere
There’s something unique about the day.
Competitors, volunteers, supporters—people show up not just to win, but to be part of something.
You’ll find:
• Encouragement between competitors
• Respect for horses as partners, not tools
• A sense of shared challenge
• Moments of humour, grit, and genuine connection
It’s competitive—but never at the cost of humanity.
⸻
For Competitors
Whether you’re:
• A seasoned endurance runner
• An experienced rider
• Or someone looking to test yourself in a completely new way
This event asks:
• What have you got when it gets tough?
• How do you respond when the landscape pushes back?
• Can you stay grounded under pressure?
Because finishing this race isn’t just physical.
It’s psychological.
⸻
For Sponsors and Supporters
This is an opportunity to be part of something that:
• Has strong community roots
• Aligns with wellbeing, resilience, and connection
• Directly supports therapeutic work with young people
It’s not about corporate noise.
It’s about authentic partnership.
And being associated with something that actually makes a difference.
Forest Dads is an innovative programme working with fathers of young children to help them navigate the often stressful and complex world of parenting. Often described as Forest School for big boys, we partner with Forestry England and Tom Ridout, a passionate forest leader to bring together men in order to have fun, find space and to gain mutual support. With mental health professional support we engage in activities as diverse as making bows and arrows to shelter building in the rolling 6 session course. We find that men engage cooperatively in tasks and then start to be open about their own challenges and gain support from the group.

I wanted to express my sincere thanks to all at Equi-Librium for facilitating our Executive Team away day. The day was exactly what we needed. It was both unique and inspiring…you couldn’t get further away from a traditional conference environment on the beautiful Quantock Hills.
The Horses, alpaca and sheep enabled us to think differently and the impact on us individually and as a team was significant. A great mix of learning different strategies, leadership skills, team working and fun was had by all

I highly recommend Equi-Librium Coaching and Therapy. We worked together to overcome some issues I had with my riding. The methods he used have made a huge difference to my riding and confidence. It’s like all the worries I had regarding my riding have melted away. He has also given me to tools to help control issues that might arise when I am riding. I can’t thank him enough for the help he has given me. THANK YOU PHILIP

I came to Equine facilitated coaching and therapy because I had a number of difficulties in my life including problematic work and fears that were getting in the way of being successful. I came with an open mind but was unsure if this was going to help. I had tried traditional counselling and coaching and they hadn’t really helped. Wow. I was completely suprised at how working with the therapist really opened up different ways of thinking, connecting and trying out ways to be more successful. What started out as some help with a work situation has really helped me across a range of issues, not least my intimate relationships and how I relate and connect with others. It is testament to the range and depth of the therapist's skills and experience that he was able to integrate a number approaches from cognitive behavioral work, to mindfulness, hypnotherapy and coaching me in how to be better and kinder to myself. I don’t know what it was about the presence of the horses but it unlocked something in me - David, University Lecturer.
